Most people today work 24/7 without even realizing it.
As a creative and visionary, if you are not working 80+ hours a week, I can bet it is something very close to that. This is exactly why so many of you are experiencing burnout.
I have a client who knew she was on the brink of exhaustion and I truly do feel she got to me just in the knick of time. Her schedule is crazy, but what's worse is that she does not have a clear path to her systems and because of that she's flying by the seat of her pants.
That's no way to live.
Right now, I am forcing her to take a small step back and embrace a little pause. It's in those small moments when you can truly prioritize what's important. It's there that one finds balance.
And that's the key to avoiding burnout.
In this episode, I share 5 key tips that will help you stay on track, reach those milestones and goals, and hopefully eliminate the negative self-talk trap. It's hard to do, I know, but it can be done.

Do you find that it's so much easier to talk yourself into all the things that you didn't do rather than reflect on the little actions you did do?
The constant noise and conversations in your head can get the best of you.
But this past year, surviving brain cancer, hip replacement surgery, pivots in my business, and tiny failures, I made a choice to work on changing that narrative.
I started with an exercise that I give to my clients and also share on my website (for free). However, because I had already spent the month of December outlining my intentions for 2023, instead I took some time to reflect on "what was" over the past year.
Here's what I uncovered:
survived brain surgery and am currently cancer free,
rebranded and got clear on where I want my focus to be
committed to a 4-day work week
automated my services, programs, and website, and am mastering the art of passive income
learned to be okay with receiving and asking...
Want to work and collaborate together, {{ first_name }}, in 2023?
I know you have big dreams for the coming year and my question to you is, have you started building that roadmap yet?
If the answer is NO, I have an inkling as to why...
...you're already overwhelmed at the thought of it
...burnout in 2022 has been so profound that you are questioning "is it worth it"
...you doubt that you have the confidence or the bandwidth to endure another year
I get it! I get it because those that I am already collaborating with a feel all of the above and so much more. And to be totally transparent, there were moments in 2022 when I felt it in a huge way.
The truth is, {{ first_name }}, building a business and the life that you want (and deserve) in your 50's(and 60's) doesn't have to SUCK!
There's a way to do it without feeling so isolated and alone. The past two + years have amplified the loneliness and one of the ways...
Have you ever just made a decision to do something and then pulled the trigger and didn't look back?
I did that the other day. It felt soooooooo good!
It wasn't anything that I even contemplated. It was inspired by an observation in my business about a strategy that just wasn't working for me.
Building an online business and media company as a solopreneur isn't easy. It's like putting together one of those 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzles. It takes forever and a day and some days you spend hours sitting there, totally focused on completing a section of the puzzle, and other days you have the patience of a gnat.
I am sure you have experienced this; you try to shove those two pieces together even though you know in your heart they don't belong together.
Constructing your business and the life you want for yourself is no different.
So, the other day I decided to basically blow up and gut one of the strategies that took me the...
I am going to keep this brief - I promise!
Because, to be totally honest and transparent here, I am exhausted.
The fact that it's December 5th and I haven't put out one decoration or made a Hanukah list for my kids is saying something.
And it's telling me that I am tired.
I am ready for a break. A break from:
my computer
the constant dings and pings on my phone
the emails pitching me to buy a bunch of crap
the news
and the list can go on and on. But I won't bore you with that.
Instead, I am going to re-evaluate what's important. Take a look t my list from last year and prioritize what I want next year to look like.
One of the tools that I use to help me do that is the 360 Review. It's the perfect time of year to take the temperature of what you have accomplished ( or didn't), what you want your life to look like in the future, and where you are today.
My three tips today might help you lean into that.
Tip #1
Instead of looking back on last...
Do you know why? Because I had a plan. As a mom of three man-children, the expectations on this meal is very, very high.
My fault entirely. I have spent 25+ years setting up the promise of what ends up on our holiday table, so I take full responsibility for that. In addition, being the sole "cooker"(as my youngest used to call me when he was a toddler), there's much to prep and do.
But over the years, I have developed and adopted a system on how to make the process as effortless as possible. It wasn't until I wrote an e-book about my Thanksgiving meal and prep that I realized that my success in both life and business comes down to one thing.
Systems!
Without them, in my opinion, you're pretty much screwed!
With only 34 days left in 2022, there is no better time to get your sh*t together and feel good about entering a new year. That's plenty of time to...
It was exactly a year ago that I was preparing for brain surgery. A tumor was found, right before Thanksgiving - something that metastasized from a previous cancer diagnosis.
Not fun.
But I am here to say that just this past Friday, I had a brain MRI and all is good
So, today, my three tips might help you get through this holiday and the next 41 days.
Tip #1
Let go of expectations. Because no matter how you try, someone will inevitably piss you off.
Tip #2
Enjoy your people. Whether they are those that you didn't choose or ones that you have adopted over the years, keep it light.
Tip #3
Eat whatever the f@ck you want!
Have a bountiful feast and a beautiful holiday!
See you next week!

It's so easy to get caught up in all that noise, especially as a creative, solopreneur, and business builder.
And it's even easier when you are surrounded by a group of like-minded humans (a.k.a. one of my masterminds) who were all plotting and planning a strategy around their black Friday offerings. But after two weeks of marinating what this could look like, I realized that I have never ever bought anything on black Friday. I was struggling with offering something that simply did not align with the how and the who I want to collaborate.
Instead of following the leader, I made a decision to stay with my integrity and scrap the whole idea.
It's not just the offer itself. The hoops I would have needed to jump through in order to unhinge that idea would have amassed about 40 hours' worth of behind-the-scenes work.
And when I...
